I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum…
December 7, 2018You know?…
It doesn’t mean what it used to though, does it?”
Preview of Sam & Lily. Originally the photos and outfits were inspired by women and fashion especially regarding our sport fashion and what we choose to work out in. I thought about my runner friends and sporty friends who exercise solo, normally after work. This act seems harmless but as females we know that it can turn dangerous quickly even in the summer hours under the safety of light. Remove the sun, shorten the days and it gets even scarier.
As the weather and season pushed our shoot date further out and as the actual shoot unfolded, it turned more into a shoot around love between sisters. Sisters who work together, drive together, travel together, laugh & cry together. I was packing up after the shoot when I remember Chas and his kids in Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums and their matching red tracksuits, symbolism of connection, of shared loss and of blood. As always, my shoots take on so many different meanings when I sit on them too long.
Thank you again to Urban Outfitter’s for the clothes and the support. The kindness I continue to receive from this brand is amazing. Thank you to my fairy Godmother Katie. You’re a real life Angel for real. <3 <3 <3
Happy Friday.
